I love my friends so much. In the past I often made poor choices to be do whatever I felt it took to keep and be a part of my peers and friends. Since I got Sober, the word friends has a new meaning. They feed and help cultivate me; teach me and comfort me with no judgement only love and support. I am so blessed!
I fell in love with this song…It’s called “Friends Like Those” and it’s by Houston-based artist, Robert Ellis. I’ll be seeing him at The Newport Folk Festival, in Newport R.I. 3 weeks from today, Saturday, July 28. The trip to this fest, with a who’s who of bands I love and are on my Bucket List of “must sees” is my first sober trip and an amazing Gift of Sobriety. Gratitude personified, I am so excited! More soon about this trip, other bands and posts from the show. But for now enjoy Robert Ellis!
“Sometimes we gotta leave.
We gotta find the things that we’re seeking, all the things we’re needing.
And the things that you leave behind often will cross your mind.
But you won’t forget them. You won’t ever forget them.
Because friends like those they never really go.
They never say goodbye.”
